Some little known facts about cough that you might not have come across before.
- Did you know that the average human cough would fill about three-quarters of a two-litre drinks bottle with air?
- There are around 3,000 tiny droplets of saliva are expelled in a single cough!
- Some of them fly out of the mouth at speeds of up to 50 miles per hour...
- When we have an infection the mucus we cough out may be yellow or green and thicker and stickier than usual – this is because of the trapped bacterial or viral particles it contains.
